I Made It Through This Rain
So on last week, once again our world of wonderful and glorious and sweet sweet sweet weather, turned it's back on us. So manic...dark clouds and then sunshine; the next day 70 degrees and then buckets and howling wind. Friday night really messed me up. I had such an uneasy and unnerving feeling all day and through the night. For whatever reason, I couldn't shake this shadow that had fallen all over me. I really didn't sleep well, and had decided to walk Harmony at 3:45am. The morning was crisp and cool and the air smelled good. I felt so much better. The ground was still wet and glistening, but it was going to be a brighter day. ????
Life does change on us, huh ? By 2 pm, buckets again, and that fast, a clear sky.....for 15 minutes. I make it to work just fine, but while there it started again....and didn't stop and didn't stop and didn't stop. I was on my way home, and decided to take this lil' video. Yes, because of the rain, but also because of the way the folks were driving...without a care in the world; speeding and splashing and making their way through the yellow lights. I guess they all had someplace to be...someplace that they would risk life and limb for.
While standing with the rain blowing in my face I got an idea...a light bulb moment...hey, why don't I pull out my camera and get this live action. Well the worst had passed, but I got sumpin'.
This Sunday morning is gorgeous. We have a clear and crisp sky.

The Greenhouse In My Backyard
This abandoned greenhouse is on the site of a local elementary school. Long since discarded, I can only imagine what it held in it's day. I have been around greenhouses all of my life....I love them.

Broke Back Fountain
Our weather again has just been gorgeous, so when I took this photo I was sad that this family never has their fountain on. Well today was the penultimate of days and as Harmony and I passed by, the fountain was on.

Giggles and Good Times
Oh to be a kid again. The sweet joy of fun; smiles and ice cream and burgers and bubblegum. The love of a moms arms and the comfort of her lap. The cuddle of a teddy bear and the excitement of a bike ride.
Oh to be a kid again !

Los Angeles Street
Los Angeles Street !
We here in California have some of the best shopping n the world. Los Angeles Street is where you go first to find the best (and not the best), at the best prices. From one piece to bulk purchases, you can find it here. Our flower mart is down here as well. Want something to do ? Go downtown to our flower mart at 4:30 in the am and drown yourself in the most beautiful flowers and plants and floral supplies at the most inexpensive prices. This is where you go for your bulk sunglasses and pillows, belts and backpacks and so much more. I'm speaking of Los Angeles Street because it is the heart of our garment district, the surrounding blocks hold quite the same bargains.
I want to tell you about the so many beautiful people that you will meet. There is a ton of 'em; truck drivers, food vendors, beggars, shop keepers, shoppers, movie set actors and actresses, police officers, government workers, students, tourists, and on and on.
If you visit Los Angeles, make sure that you get to Los Angeles Street and our garment district. You will have a gas of a time and probably, most probably have an extra baggage fee when it is time to go home.

Our Place of Government Business
The tip of the iceberg! I had jury duty yesterday, so I had the pleasure of visiting downtown Los Angeles. During our lunch break, I took a walk around the surrounding vicinity. I had a chance to really look at the fantastic changes that have taken place but also to look at our staples. The very pinnicle of this picture is the top of our city hall. I've been there many times. I am an advocate of knowing our government offices and the folks who represent us.
Los Angeles City Hall was completed in 1928 and sits within our historic Temple st, Main st, Spring st and 1st st boundaries. City Hall has an observation deck that is open to the public. From 1928 until 1964 our city hall was the tallest building in Los Angeles. Every Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday at 10AM, our city council meets, and the sessions are always open to the public, unless otherwise stated.
I encourage you to find out what goes on in your city's place of government business.
